Manchester Pop Warner Red Hawks Youth Football and Cheer





Open to BOTH Boys and Girls ages 5 to 14 in Manchester AND surrounding towns
ALL Coaches are certified in 'Heads Up' tackle and Pop Warner safety standards.

SEASON STARTS AUGUST 1ST and runs thru late November and into December for winning playoff teams



Start your registration on-line, as of March 1st. - $160 for the season  ($125 for ages 5 & 6)

To complete registration, the following 5 items must be completed and turned in to the league. 

1.  Pop Warner Physical form (2 pages.  Available on our website)

2.  Pop Warner Participant Contract and Parent Consent form (2 pages.  Available on our website)
3.  COVID-19 Disclosure & Waiver form 2020

4.  2019/2020 Report Card- (a copy including ALL marking periods)
5.  Original birth certificate w/a copy- The copy will be certified by Pop Warner and the original will be returned to you.
(Not required for returning players with a birth certificate already on file)


To protect your information, we can only accept all registration paperwork turned in at the same time.


Players cannot participate in any practices or games until all items have been completed and turned in to the league, after which; every player must be formally certified by Pop Warner to participate in the season.


To be certified by Pop Warner, players will be required to attend a formal certification date, in August, that will be scheduled by Southern Connecticut Pop Warner.


Team Structure:
Teams are assigned by age group.

To ensure the best experience for our players, team sizes are limited.

Teams are filled on a first come first serve basis. 

Your player’s position on a team is not reserved until their registration fee is paid in full.


Your player's age as of July 31st of the given year, will be their playing age for the season.


Our 6U team will include players age 5 & 6
Our 8U team will include players age 7 & 8
Our 10U team will include players age 9 & 10
Our 12U team will include players age 11 & 12
Our 14U team will include players age 13 & 14




Practice is an important part of preparing your player to safely and successfully participate in the games that we compete in.


Football is played in all kinds of weather so please be prepared that your player will practice and play in various elements including heat, cold and rain.


Attendance Policy:

We maintain a strict attendance policy to ensure the safety of our players and to reinforce the commitment to the team.  Any player who misses more than 1 practice, will not be permitted to play in the game for that given week.

If a player is late by more than 30 minutes, that too will be considered an absence.

Practice schedule:
Practice is held weeknights 6-8 pm

Mon-Fri for the first 2 weeks for ALL players, to obtain the required 20 hours of conditioning as mandated by Pop Warner rules.
Practices then split by team and reduce to a maximum of 6 hours per week. (as per Pop Warner rules)

Your team’s practice schedule for the season will be officially determined at the point when the teams are split. 
Changes to the below may be made based on guidelines relating to safety thru COVID-19.


6U and 8U teams practice 2 days (generally Tues and Thurs).

10U, 12U and 14U teams practice 3 days (generally Tues, Wed and Thurs)

*In the event of a cancellation (due to lightning, field availability etc.) coaches may schedule a   make-up practice on Fridays.


Practices are held at Washington School field, 94 Cedar Street Manchester

Players must be in proper practice uniform and equipment to participate.

  If a player cannot participate, they are then absent from practice.

Games are usually played on Sundays, but may also be Saturdays
Home games are played at Manchester High School
Away games are played at other Pop Warner team fields affiliated with Southern Connecticut Pop Warner

*Official game schedules are determined and posted by Southern Connecticut Pop Warner.  Locations and times are subject to change.


While every effort is made for teams to all play in the same location on the same day, they may also be at different venues at different times.


Players are expected to attend all games, and to arrive on time for warm up and check in. 
Late arrival may prevent the player from participating.

Players must be in proper game uniform and equipment to participate.

Equipment and Uniforms:

Once registration is complete, the League will provide the following:

helmet, shoulder pads, practice jersey, game jersey, game pants, socks                                                            


All but the socks will be returned to the league at the end of the player's season.

In the event uniforms and equipment are not turned in to the league, collection actions will be taken.

Parent/Guardian will be expected to provide: Cleats, Mouthpiece, Protective cup and Practice Pants


A $10 discount will be applied for sibling registrations, after the first registration is charged full price.


Refunds can be issued at any time up until the season jamboree. 

No refunds will be issued AFTER the season jamboree.

All refunds will have a $40 processing fee deducted 
Refunds will be issued via check within 5 days of receiving the request to cancel
